In the early 1978, Gia was 18 & went to New York &  instantly rose to fame in the fashion industry as a supermodel. She was stylish, cool & shrewd.

Gia Marie Carangi featured on the cover page of "Vogue", a fashion & style magazine on 1st April, 1979. In August, 1980 Gia also featured in the American Vogue, in 1981 for Italian Vogue & many other issues of 'Cosmopolitan' in between 1979 &  1982. Dirk Bach was born in Cologne, Germany on April 23, 1961 and died on October 1, 2012 in Berlin, Germany. Dirk Bach was a well-known actor and comedian who was openly gay. He was the son of an engineer and an office assistant. Dirk Bach landed his first theater role in 1978 for the Cologne director Hans Günter Heyme in a production of Heiner Muller’s “Titan.”

Dirk Bach did not attend drama school, but began learning his stage skills at a young age by working in theaters after school. He eventually joined several independent theater groups with which he ended up traveling to places such as The Netherlands, Brussels, London, America and Austria. In 1985, Dirk Bach won the Max-Ophuls Prize. In the mid-1980s, he had his big break as a comedian when he joined the cast of a project called “Geierwally.” In 1988 he received a “Commitment on Improvisational Theater.” In 1992, Dirk Bach became member of the “Ensemble of the Cologne Theatre,” where he was known for being both funny and dramatic.

Bach gained a wider audience in 1992 with “The Dirk Bach Show,” on the German television station RTL, which was followed by the television series “Lukas,” which aired on the ZDF network from 1996 to 2001. From 2000 to 2007, Dirk Bach appeared as "Pepe" on the German version of the popular American children’s show “Sesame Street.” He was also well-known for being the voice of several popular children’s cartoon characters. Dirk Bach also lent his voice to various audio books by authors such as Walter Moers, as well as children’s books such as “Impy’s Island” by Max Kruse. He also was the voice of the popular children’s character “Capt’n Sharky.”

In 2004, he began co-hosting the RTL show “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me out of Here!” with Sonja Zietlow. In 2005 he starred in the lead role in a movie adaptation of “Impy’s Island.” From 2006 to 2008 he served as the leader an improvisational comedy show on RTL. Dirk Bach also worked with Cordula Stratmann in 2004 and 2005 on the improvisational comedy show called “Schillerstraße,” which aired weekly on Saturdays. In 2009 he became good friends with Jurgen Vogel.

In 2008, Dirk Bach hosted the television game show “Power of Ten.” In 2009, he hosted a show simply titled “Dirk Bach.” In the summer of 2010, he was part of the ensemble of the “Worms Nibelungen Pageant.” Dirk Bach also worked closely with Hella von Sinnen in several productions. In 2012, he was preparing to play the title role in the play “The Little King December” at the Schlosspark Theater in Berlin when he passed away.

Private Life and Civil Union

In 1999, Dirk Bach married the man who had been his life partner since 1995, although the ceremony, which took place in Key West, Florida, had no legal validity in Germany. Dirk Bach was well-known as a gay rights activist. He was a member of LSVD (the Lesbian and Gay Federation in Germany), and supported Amnesty International and PETA as well, all of which helped earn him a Humanitarian Award in 2001. In 2008 he received the Reminders Day Award for his involvement in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

On October 1, 2012, Dirk Bach was found dead in a hotel room in Berlin. According to Berlin officials, Dirk Bach had been receiving treatment for heart-related issues and had most likely died of heart failure. After his death, there were blood-pressure and cholesterol-lowering medications found in his home. Dirk Bach was alone at the time of his death and officials say there were no signs of foul play. On October 7, 2012, Dirk Bach was laid to rest at the Melaten site in Cologne-Lindenthal at a private ceremony for family and friends.

Jeremy Shu-How Lin, born August 23, 1988, is an USA basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After not receiving any athletic scholarship offers out of high school and being undrafted out of college, Jeremy Linreached a partially guaranteed deal in 2010 with his hometown team, the Golden State Warriors. Jeremy Lin rarely played during his first season and was assigned to the NBA Development League (D-League) three times.

Jeremy Lin was waived by the Warriors and also the Rockets the next preseason before he joined the New York Knicks early in the 2011–12 season. Jeremy Lin continued to play seldomly and spend time in the D-League. But then in February 2012, he unexpectedly led the Knicks in a winning streak that led to his promotion to the starting lineup, which generated a worldwide buzz referred to as “Linsanity.” Jeremy Lin then signed a three-year contract with the Rockets in the summer of 2012. Lin is one of the few Asian Americans ever to play in the history of the NBA, and is also the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent ever to play in the NBA. He is also well-known for his very public expression of his commitment to Christianity.

The middle child of Taiwanese immigrants, Jeremy Lin started playing basketball at his local YMCA at a young age. He played basketball for Palo Alto High School, where he was named team captain in his senior year, the same year his team won the state title. In addition to being a powerful athlete, Jeremy Linalso excelled academically, earning very high grades in his classes. He was also the editor of his high school newspaper, and spent a summer interning for California legislator Joe Simitian. Despite all of his achievements, both on and off the court, Jeremy Lin was not able to land a basketball scholarship for college. Nevertheless, he attended Harvard University, where he became a force to be reckoned with on their basketball team. During his four years there, Jeremy Lincompeted in 115 games, averaging 12.9 points per game, and was selected for the All-Ivy League First Team in his final two years. Being the only Asian-USA player in his division, life on the court wasn't always easy for Jeremy Lin. Even though he sometimes had to deal with racist slurs being hurled at him by fans and competitors, he did not allow these nasty comments to discourage him.

Michel Telo, the Brazilian singer-songwriter was born on 21st Jan 1981. In 1987, as a six-year-old, he made his first solo performance in his faculty choir, singing a piece by Roberto and Erasmo Carlos Sanchez. At 10, Michel Telo’s musical talent blossomed as his father gave him an accordion. At the age of twelve, upon encouragement by neighbors, faculty friends, and his brothers, he fashioned a young band known as "Guri" for enjoying ancient music that served to highlight his style in music in an organized manner. He was the band's lead singer and musician. Besides his love for the mouth organ, Teloalso took up piano lessons for five years. Michel Telo was also a dancer and played the accordion, the harmonica  & the guitar.

In 1997, 16-year old Michel Telowas invited to join the band Grupo Tradicao, being a part of the band for eleven years as lead vocalist till 2008. His career as a singer took off as he sang the band’s biggest hits, like "Barquinho Caldeirao", "Par Sempre Minha Vida", "A Brasileira", and "Eu Quero Voce." During this time, he was the band's front figure, conducting most of the interviews & promotions. According to Michel’s former producer Wagner, he left without making any enmities or hard feelings, as he had made it clear that he needed to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Guilherme Bertoldo, however the band had lost most of its attractiveness because of his departure and shortly members began to quit the band, not having enough trust in the viability of the band without Michel Telo.
